I'm looking forward to the finish sanding steps. Now - I see the disks as expensive but a bargain compared to the sheet sandpaper. I bought the DeWalt when I saw how fast I was going through sheets of paper on my old quarter sheet vibrator. And the wood looks great - no scratching with the coarse paper. I bought these disks to go with my new DeWalt sander. In the first hour I burned three of the 80 grits but I took the ancient varnish off a 3' x 6' oak panel in the process. I get more work done with less time, effort and cost per square foot now.
I was not familiar with the Mirka name and was very pleasantly surprised at the cost and quality. Seems to hold up well in both cases.
You won't be sorry. Did OK.
Did use a 80 grit disk to remove some surface rust from a rusty shovel. And I guess if we have to buy imported products, quality from Norway beats crap from China EVERY DAY.Try a box of these.
Not sure how much more I can say about sanding disks other than the title of my review. Been buying Norton abrasives, at the big box stores and Mirka blows Norton away, both in quality and cost per disk. The sanding projects I have used these disks on has mostly been for sanding pine and a little oak.
but I suspect there are better abrasives for that type of job.I try to by American made products when available, but I'm sold on this product from Norway.
These discs work as well as any I have used previously. Nice assortment and good value. This will save me repeated trips to the store to buy sanding discs for a long while.
Very satisfied. These are quality pads with good backing for a much better price than Norton sandpaper or other brands you see at Home Depot / Lowes. Great value and incredibly fast shipping. These arrived 1.5 days after I ordered them. I've been doing lots of sanding of red oak while restoring a 117 year old house and they work great on a Bosch random orbit sander.
As an added bonus these disks are made in Finland which accounts for their quality. These disks do an excellent sanding job and are easy to attach and remove. Try them and you will like them. You get 50 disks for less than 20 bucks. Hard to beat that deal. In addition, Finland is not known for using harmful chemicals in their manufacturing process so they are safe to handle.
